Meet Our Team
In addition to our five campaign committee members pictured here, we are thankful for the support of dozens of volunteers who are passionate about this work. Scroll to the bottom to join us!
Lisa Snow
Campaign Committee Member Lisa Snow is excited by the prospect of a people-centric space to bring out the vibrancy of West Pearl. She has been resident of Boulder since 2014, and she lives near downtown with her partner and daughter. After working downtown for years, and working from home during the pandemic times, she is now pursuing her career as a software engineer in east Boulder. She served on the city's Pedestrian Advisory Committee in 2019, where she learned a lot and helped contribute to the city's Pedestrian Plan as part of the Transportation Master Plan, which guides transportation planning across the city. Her favorite part of the plan is the initiative to create prioritized spaces for people.
Alex Weinheimer
Campaign Committee Treasurer Alex Weinheimer grew up in Boulder and loves visiting Downtown Boulder with his family to dine and shop on Pearl Street - especially West Pearl. His experiences growing up in Boulder and the love he has for our downtown area, helped shape his interest in cities and creating more people-focused places. He now works as a consultant doing transportation planning to help cities provide safer streets and to improve walking, bicycling, and transit opportunities.
Alex loved it when the city opened West Pearl to people during the pandemic to unlock an exciting new public space. In the Summer of 2020, during her first visit to Boulder, he took his now-wife Jacqueline on a date to West Pearl, where they enjoyed an outdoor dinner. They are now married and continue to frequent West Pearl. They hope that Pearl For You creates a more welcoming community space with exciting programming in the years to come.
Kurt & Krista Nordback
Campaign Committee Chair Kurt Nordback grew up in Boulder, attending BVSD schools and the University of Colorado. After spending a decade in other parts of the world, he boomeranged back to Boulder to be near family and in the town he loves. He is an engineer creating open-source, corporate-free software. He found the West Pearl community space to be one of the silver linings of the Covid-19 pandemic, and is excited to restore an even better version.
Campaign Committee Member Krista Nordback has been a Boulder resident since the mid-1990s. She works from home as a bicycle and pedestrian safety researcher for two out-of-state universities and enjoys bicycling, hiking, and singing in her free time. She eagerly anticipates a West Pearl open again for people to promenade, dance, dine, and relax.
Jonathan Woodard
Campaign Committee Member Jonathan Woodard moved to Boulder in 2010, after falling in love with Pearl Street during a visit in 2004. When he’s not riding his three year old around town in the cargo bike, he leads a software engineering team.
He’s seen the power of expanding public spaces for people through spending a year traveling Europe, and is excited that Boulder has an opportunity to reimagine it’s streets.
